Reserve Your Materials by Work Order

In woodworking and cabinet shops, planning challenges are a daily reality — some projects require specific materials, others have tight deadlines, and available stock doesn’t always match immediate needs. Cienapps ERP developed the “Reserve by Work Order” module to address these challenges and optimize inventory management.

How It Works

The module allows you to reserve in-stock products directly for each work order, ensuring that available materials are assigned to the projects that need them most. Accessible from the Just-in-Time window under the “To Process by Work Order” tab, the system takes into account:

• Inventory status, to identify which products are available immediately

• Work order due date, aligned with production or installation timelines

• Planned purchasing dates, to schedule reservations based on upcoming needs

The process is simple: select a work order, review the available products to reserve, check off the required items, and click “Reserve.” The reserved quantities are automatically updated in the corresponding work order.

If some quantities are not available in stock, they automatically appear in the “To Purchase” section, allowing you to trigger a purchase without delay.
